Traffic in human beings, begging and other similar forms of forced labour are prohibited and any contravention of this provision shall be an offence punishable in accordance with law.

WGroups

A Working group on ‘Protection of Child Rights of Children at Railway Platforms’ has been constituted on 12th March 2009 to:

  1. To study the risks associated with life of children on railway platforms

  2. To understand the life style of children working in railway platforms

  3. To study the factors to prevent abuse of rights and violence of children on railway platforms

  4. To study the possibility of rehabilitation of children staying on railway platforms with the ultimate objective of reuniting them back with their family

  5. To understand the cause and factors of substance abuse among children on railway platforms

  6. To understand the health aspects of the drug addicted children and on railway platforms and their perception related to drug abuse and to look into their rehabilitation.

  7. To study the factors to prevent physical/ drug abuse of missing and displaced children on railway platform.

  8. To study the factors to prevent child trafficking of missing and displaced children on railway platforms.

  9. To finalize the guidelines for protection of rights of the children railway platforms in view of above stated factors and others, as applicable and also to recommend any other measures that may be useful in addressing the concerns regarding the protection of rights of children on railway platforms.
