Traffic in human beings, begging and other similar forms of forced labour are prohibited and any contravention of this provision shall be an offence punishable in accordance with law.

  • To organize a meeting with representatives from NGOs, Officers from WCD and Media for discussion on formulation of Guidelines for Children’s participation in TV serials and Reality Shows.  Ms. Sandhya Bajaj, Member, NCPCR also visited Orphanage Homes and Hospitals to see children affected by Bomb Blast, at Mumbai, during 16 and 19 December, 2008

  • Five Meetings have been held on 17.9.2008, 23.10.2008, 25.11.2008, 10.12.2008 respectively at NCPCR Office.
  • One more Meeting has been held at Mumbai on  17.12.2008.
  • Draft Guidelines on Participation of Children in TV/ Reality Shows has been submitted to the Commission

WGroups

A Working group on Children working in Teleserials/ Competitive Reality Shows/ Advertisements’has been constituted on 14h January 2009 to:

  1. To carry out on the spot inspections of studios/ green room

  2. Formulate guidelines for working hours, working conditions, educational psychological and recreational needs

  3. To find out shortcomings in the existing laws/ regulations (if any) on the subject and recommend appropriate measures;

  4. Recommend any other measures that may be useful in addressing the concerns regarding the protection of child rights in Teleserials / Reality Shows/ Advertisements.
